At Politecnico di Milano, the value of people has always been a priority. Investing in the well-being of those who work within the University means creating the conditions for a more motivating, inclusive and attentive work environment.

Research confirms that a high level of well-being has positive effects on the quality of work, productivity, results and, more generally, on the competitiveness of an organization. For this reason, the Politecnico is committed to a continuous process of listening and analysis of needs, aimed at building an integrated welfare system that focuses on the care of physical and mental health.

The Polimi People Care program fits into this context, a concrete and structured response to the needs of our people.

Polimi People Care program

Polimi People Care is the supplementary health care program  of the Politecnico di Milano, developed in collaboration with the mutual aid company Insieme Salute ETS. It was created with the aim of offering concrete support to the University's staff, responding effectively and individually to the health and social care needs of our community.

Based on a network welfare model, the program is designed to accompany our people in the various challenges that may arise in the course of life: a health problem, the burden of parenthood or the care of fragile family members, a period of stress or the difficulty of reconciling work and personal commitments.

Main services

The program offers a wide range of services, designed to ensure complete coverage that can be modulated according to individual needs. Among the services included:

  • Full reimbursement of health tickets
  • Reimbursement or direct access for unlimited private visits and examinations, with low deductibles and high ceilings
  • Daily allowances and reimbursements in the event of hospitalization
  • Physiotherapy and post-hospitalization, illness or injury care
  • Extensive coverage for dental and orthodontic services
  • Psychological support programs
  • Special packages at discounted rates for maternity, pediatric age or in case of non-self-sufficiency.

Tailored-made prevention: an innovative packaging

Among the most innovative initiatives of the program, the Advanced Personalized Prevention Package stands out, a free prevention and early diagnosis path built according to the gender and age of the patient. The service includes a check-up diary, which automatically organizes and updates the visits and examinations to be carried out, with an automatic reminder system for each deadline. The services provided are entirely free of charge and can be booked easily.

Easy access and personalized support

To facilitate access to the services available, a dedicated consultancy channel has been activated, through which each employee can receive personalized assistance to identify the solution that best suits their needs and proceed with the activation of services in the area in a simple and guided way. In addition, a 24/7 telephone exchange is available to provide timely assistance at any time, even outside of business hours.

who is it for?

The program is aimed at all University staff, with the possibility of extension to the family unit (spouse, cohabiting partner more uxorio, children, affiliates) and parents.

What's new in 2.0 version

Starting from June 2025, the Polimi People Care program evolves into its 2.0 version, enriching itself with new services designed to respond in an even more targeted way to the psychophysical well-being needs of staff.

The result of an in-depth analysis of the needs of the University community, the plan expands into four key areas:

  1. Parenting support
Services and counselling dedicated to parents of children aged 0 to 19, including sleep counselling, childcare and pedagogy, speech therapy sessions and school guidance support.
  2. Caregiving
Concrete support for those who take care of non-self-sufficient family members, with services such as occupational therapy, assisted transport and legal advice for legal protection.
  3. Psychophysical well-being and self-care
Initiatives aimed at promoting mental and physical health, through osteopathic treatments, psychotherapy sessions, nutritional visits and other personalized pathways.
  4. Work-life balance
Solutions designed to facilitate work-life balance, including the search for babysitters or specialized operators, and paperwork services.

To access these new services, each employee has an annual ceiling of 120 euros, entirely financed by the University, without deductibles or destination constraints.

In the future, our commitment will be to further strengthen the network of initiatives, to respond more and more precisely and punctually to the needs of our people. We intend to do this by maximizing the available resources, expanding the range of services offered and adopting targeted tools for listening to and monitoring the needs of the community.
