CNC Lab

Equipment

The CNC Lab is equipped with numerically controlled machines, operated by the staff, for cutting sheet materials, such as: cardboard, methacrylates and expanded plastics. These processes are carried out starting from two-dimensional CAD drawings and must be agreed in advance with the staff.

The CNC Lab is equipped with:

  • laser cutting plotter with cutting area 680 x 430 mm;
  • laser cutting plotter with cutting area 980 x 610 mm;
  • blade cutting plotter with cutting area 1330 x 1630 mm;
  • hot wire plotter with cutting volume 1320 x 650 x 650 mm.

How to access

1. Discuss the need of the operations with your tutor

Check with the staff that the type of process is suitable for your needs and the chosen material.

2. Watch the tutorials and follow file preparation instructions

For each machine it is necessary to prepare two-dimensional files with specific characteristics: consult the attachments at the bottom of the page.

3. Check the cutting files with the staff and save them to USB

Our staff will review your files to check that they are correct and assess the cutting time. They will then give you an appointment for the cut.

4. You will be called when it's your turn

Please only bring the files that have been reviewed by staff, based on which we have estimated the cutting time.
