Descrizione dell'iniziativa
Following the success of the first edition, the "Becoming a Designer" Passion in Action continues to offer a unique opportunity for cultural and professional development for students of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano. Through six bi-weekly evening meetings, starting from September 24th, the course will explore the Designer's Toolbox.
Each seminar, led by Prof. Francesco Schianchi and a representative from the Industrial Product Design Study Program Council, is enriched by the presence of a prominent designer, selected for their specific expertise on the evening's theme. This synergy between academia and the professional world offers students a unique and stimulating perspective, blending theory and practice. The course is not limited to transmitting knowledge, but aims to develop critical and creative thinking, essential for addressing the challenges of modern design.
Active student participation ensures a complete and personalized educational experience.
This journey represents an unmissable opportunity for those aspiring to become conscious and innovative designers, capable of interpreting and shaping the future of design. In an ironic and reflective manner, the identified tools will be the following:
_ Seismograph: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects the invisible evolutions, the underground movements that traverse current reality, making this the content/proposal of their projects.
_ Microscope: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects the "significant detail," the particular, the "marginal" that becomes meaningful, making this the content/proposal of their projects.
_ Telescope: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects perspective, prefiguration, the anticipatory and promethean capacity of design, making this the evident content/proposal of their projects.
_ Compass 1: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects their own culture, the interpretation of their reference genius loci, inserting this distinctive trait into the watermark and/or communication of their projects.
_ Compass 2: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects one or more of the other 3 cardinal points: Center, Zenith, Deep. These cardinal points can be synthesized as follows: Center, as a Renaissance approach; Zenith, as another gaze/another perspective; Deep, as interpretation of archetypes.
_ Macroscope: a designer who has placed at the center of their projects the interpretation and use of technology as a new design territory, confronting the "ethical and social" themes that technological pervasiveness challenges.
The meetings will be held weekly/biweekly
